SOMEONE’S LOOKING AT YOUR EMAILS. How do you know they’re not?

A cybercriminal could be analysing your emails right now learning how you write, how you act, everything down to how you sign off your emails with each individual client or supplier.
They’re trying to become you, your clients and your suppliers. By knowing exactly how you act they can mimic an email conversation perfectly and scam you, your clients or suppliers out of thousands.

Here’s how they do it

Your staff are the weak link

There’s no way you can stop email forwarders because cyberattackers are becoming more savvy and driven.
Unfortunately, it’s your staff who are the weak link.
It’s in our nature to be trusting and even your most skeptical and observant employee can easily fall foul of such a sneaky attack, they really are indistinguishable from the real thing.
If you were to fire your employees every time they made a mistake like this let’s be honest you’d have none left.

Although you can’t guarantee stopping email forwarders you can track them down and cut them out before any damage is done. And because we’re passionate about cybersecurity we’re going to show you exactly how to do that.

Here’s how you can protect yourself!

Or we can do it for you

If that all seems a bit overwhelming to you, too techy or just plain time consuming we’ve developed our own unique product that can automate this process scanning your entire system every two hours. If you haven’t got time to watch the video above you haven’t got time to do this yourself.

All it would cost for this system to be fully automated, scanning your system 12 times a day is £15 a month for businesses with less than 25 users and £30 a month for businesses with more than 25 users.
It’s hardly breaking the bank. When we’ve had customers almost tricked out of £20,000 by a fake Microsoft email and others actually losing £38,000 to this exact scam, it’s a no brainer.
How could you say no?

Some Frequently Asked Questions

When used normally an email forwarder is a setting in your emails that allows you to automatically forward any emails from one particular email account to another.

This can be useful for forwarding emails from generic business contact addresses to specific people. Or forwarding emails from an old email account to a new one. However, when a cybercriminal hacks into your account they can use the same email forwarder settings to forward all of your emails to their email address without you knowing.

They’ll then collect and read your emails for months undetected and get to know how you, your clients and suppliers write, interact and behave. Waiting for the perfect time to strike pretending to be you, your client or your supplier to trick people out of money because they know exactly how you communicate, they will mimic everything about you.

Yes, the threat from email forwarders is very real. The reason you may not have heard about it much is because this kind of hack is almost impossible to detect.

Normal security software will not pick it up, we’ve created special dedicated software to automatically check for these forwarder settings. You could have email forwards on right now and you’d be none the wiser, people could have been watching your emails for weeks and you wouldn’t know. It’s a silent, sneaky but deadly weapon.

Since the implementation of this service for our current clients, we’ve already noticed and notified a number of businesses about unknown email forwards and got them removed before they become a real problem. We’ve had one close call where a client almost lost £20,000 and one ad hoc who only uses us infrequently did actually lose £38,000.

You’re very welcome to check for email forwarders yourself, we’ve even provided you with the instructions to do so. But you will need to carry out the process manually yourself for every email address in your business and every two hours. Not many people or even IT teams have the manpower for that large a task. Our service will allow the whole process to be automated and it will scan your entire system every 2 hours to check for forwarders, you won’t have to do anything. How much would it cost you to employ a full-time person to do this for you?
When you initially sign up for our service you’ll be sent an email requesting that you delegate access to your Office 365 portal. Don’t worry it’s a really simple, all you have to do is click through a link and accept. We will then be able to implement our service and it’ll run automatically in the background remotely scanning your system every two hours checking for unsolicited admin, you won’t even know it’s there. If we do ever detect any changes in admins we will notify you immediately. You will receive an email where you can then choose to accept or reject the changes in admin depending on whether or not they were meant to be changed. If you ignore the email the system will keep notifying you until you accept or reject the admin changes. From time to time, you will also receive an email notifying you that everything is okay, but in this instance, no news is good news.
We need global admin rights as it allows us access to your Office 365 portal, to see where the forwarders lie as that’s the only way we can spot it.

Without global admin rights, we’re limited with what we can do and will not be able to protect you from and detect forwards. We will send you a guide on how to enable auditing. With auditing enabled you will be able to see exactly what we are doing with our global admin rights for complete transparency and peace of mind.

If you already have an IT support team you’re quite welcome to go to them and ask them about protecting you from email forwarders and you can even show them our guide on how to do it. But chances are they will not have the time to manually do this process for you nor the expertise to automate it as this is a brand-new state of the art service. Microsoft have confirmed with us that no one else is doing this, we had to get the green light to go ahead. We can happily work alongside your existing IT support companies to provide you with this extra level of protection. You do not need to transfer all your IT support over to us we are offering this as a standalone service so you remain protected.
We can provide this service to anyone across the world as it’s all done remotely.
You are free to cancel your service anytime you wish, with one month’s notice. Just notify accounts@promptpc.co.uk one month in advance. There is no contract or obligation to stay with us. As soon as you cancel your order we will remove our service and notify you on how to remove us as global admins from your system.
You can have the service for as long or short amount of time as you like. Although we obviously recommend you use this service indefinitely to ensure you’re always protected but there are no contracts and you are not tied into a particular length of time. All we request is a months notice.
By GoCardless direct debit, which is a secure worldwide platform for taking direct debits. You’ll be covered by a full direct debit guarantee.
